LOS ANGELES, CA – The skies over Anaheim came to life with Star Wars imagery Friday night. Eight hundred drones flew over Angels Stadium, recreating scenes from the Star Wars franchise. Sky Elements entertained guests with an incredible Star Wars-themed drone show after the game between the Los Angeles Angels and the Minnesota Twins. The drone show in Anaheim was the first to fly for the Angels, as more MLB teams jumped onto this growing trend. This will be Sky Elements’ 5th Major League Baseball drone show this season, with many more slated nationwide.
The largest Star Wars drone show in the MLB
Star Wars fans were delighted to stick around after the game to see their favorite characters bigger and brighter than ever before. The Star Wars drone show retells Episode IV: A New Hope. Stormtroopers were taking the Tantive IV, Princess Leia was blasting them back, and Darth Vader’s ominous mask was one of the formations that flew. Of course, the show concluded with a rebel X-Wing squadron blowing up the Death Star! Gasoline fireballs exploded as remnants of the Death Star trickled down to Earth.
The Angels drone show kept fans in their seats for the whole game.
The post-game drone show created a buzz among fans. While drone shows are getting popular, many people haven’t seen one in person. While many fans leave baseball games early to beat traffic, fans will stick around for a post-game drone show! Sky Elements promises to bring the magic to audiences, leaving them with a lasting impression. The Angels Star Wars drone show was no different, creating memories for attendees, young and old.
Drone shows are becoming a favored fireworks alternative in Southern California
The rise of drone light shows in Southern California is fascinating. Many municipalities in and around Anaheim have opted for drone shows as an alternative to fireworks displays due to burn bans. Firework displays are historically more dangerous to environments with dryer foliage, leading to wildfires. Drone shows offer a sustainable and safer solution, as each drone takes off and lands in the same place. Drones don’t bring the debris, clean-up, and risk of fire that fireworks bring, making drone shows a worthy alternative for aerial entertainment in Anaheim.
The future of drone shows in Anaheim
Drone shows in Anaheim will only continue to get more popular as time goes on. Whether it be a future show with the Los Angeles Angeles or a show with the Anaheim Ducks, drone shows at Anaheim sporting events have certainly piqued the interest of its residents. Anaheim is also home to some of the country’s oldest amusement parks, where drone shows could be seen entertaining guests in the future. Beach towns like Newport Beach and Huntington Beach would be the perfect backdrop for a drone show over the water. The opportunities for drone entertainment in Anaheim are truly endless.
