Nine Guinness World Records: How Sky Elements continues to push boundaries in the drone world

1. Largest aerial sentence formed by multi-rotors or drones

July 2023 – North Richland Hills, TX | During a Fourth of July celebration, Sky Elements used 796 drones to form the sentence “Happy 4th of July 2023,” earning them their first Guinness World Record. The massive crowd below were enamored by the displays of American history up above. It was the perfect way to ring in a busy Fourth of July!

2. Largest flag created with multi-rotors or drones

November 2023 – Orlando, FL | Sky Elements attended the annual IAAPA expo. There, Sky Elements performed three 400-drone shows, culminating in a massive 1,600-drone show, breaking two Guinness World Records. The first of the two was the Largest flag created with multi-rotors or drones created with a massive American flag!

3. Largest logo flown with multi-rotors or drones

November 2023 – Orlando, FL | In the same show at IAAPA, Sky Elements broke their third Guinness World Record. The show was entitled “Mavericks Over Time” and featured a cowboy riding a horse, a knight fighting a dragon, and wrapped up with an amazing Sky Elements logo. This logo would break Sky Elements’ third Guinness World Record for largest logo flown with multi-rotors or drones.

4. Largest aerial image made with multi-rotors or drones

December 2023 – North Richland Hills, TX | Sky Elements would go on to break its fourth and fifth Guinness World Record. The drone show was flown in North Richland Hills, Texas over the Birdville ISD football field for a massive crowd in the lot below. The audience tuned their The show was a Christmas drone show retelling the story of  “The Nutcracker”. Sky Elements recreated the sugar plum fairy, the Nutcracker himself, and the battle between the Mouse King and the Nutcracker. The formation that broke the record was a scene with a Christmas tree in the window. This would break the fourth Sky Elements Guinness World Record for Largest aerial image made with multi-rotors or drones.

5. Largest fictional character made with multi-rotors or drones

December 2023 – North Richland Hills, TX | In the same Christmas drone show, Sky Elements flew a massive 700-foot tall nutcracker. The nutcracker stood tall over the stadium and appeared, bottom to top set to Tchaikovsky’s ballet. The Nutcracker formation would then break the record for the largest fictional character made with multi-rotors or drones.

6. Most emojis formed by UAVs in three minutes

December 2023 – North Richland Hills, TX | Once The Nutcracker drone show wrapped up, Sky Elements flew a smaller drone show for the crew that put on the 1,500-drone show. This smaller show featured 130 drones creating 24 drones in three minutes, which was more than double the amount flown to break the record. After performing one of the more wackier drone shows Sky Elements flew, the team tallied up another Guinness World Record for most emojis formed by UAVs in three minutes!

7. and 8. Largest fictional character made with multi-rotors or drones

July 2024 – San Diego, CA | What do you get when you combine San Diego Comic Con, 2,400 drones, and two iconic superheroes? The largest drone show in the United States that breaks two Guinness World Records back to back! Deadpool and Wolverine made a triumphant entrance at San Diego Comic-Con this year. After a screening and panel inside Hall H, Kevin Feige told everyone to look to the skies for a final surprise. Marvel fans were treated to an amazing drone show over PetCo Park featuring the antics of Deadpool and Wolverine.

The first record-breaking drone formation featured Deadpool, consisting of 1,599 drones, setting a new benchmark. In a playful twist befitting the character, the record was broken again with Wolverine’s formation, using 1,607 drones moments later! If that wasn’t enough, a fleet of pyro drones would be used as a “post credits” scene to tease the new Fantastic 4 movie! The show was an absolute blast and fans adored the gigantic tribute. After the dust settled, Sky Elements would emerge with two more Guinness World Records.

9. The most-remote-operated multirotor drones launching fireworks simultaneously

September 2024 – Mansfield, TX | Pyrotechnic drone shows are on the rise in the United States after Sky Elements became the first American company to obtain FAA approval to fly pyrotechnics from drones. Since May of 2024, Sky Elements has been flying public pyrotechnic drone displays across the country. These shows culminated in creating the ultimate pyrotechnic display; a Guinness World Records attempt. Sky Elements created an epic battle in the skies between a fiery phoenix and an ice wolf. After the battle, a 1,200-drone Phoenix lit up the dark skies with fireworks! With this formation, Sky Elements would break the Guinness World Record for most-remote operated multirotor drones launching fireworks simultaneously.
