Largest aerial image of a bird made with multirotors or drones

ORLANDO, FL | In an absolute tour de force, Sky Elements breaks its 10th Guinness World Record with the largest drone show in the United States. The drone show broke the Guinness World Record for “largest aerial display of a bird formed by multi-rotors/drones.” The record to beat was 988, and Sky Elements smashed it with a whopping 2,484 drones. Sky Elements left IAAPA Expo 2024 attendees stunned as the display told the story of an imaginative boy exploring the world with a hummingbird. Take a look at how we pulled it off below!

An original story told in the sky

The drone show begins with a boy and his book under his favorite tree reading. He’s visited by his hummingbird friend, Aurora, who insists on going on an adventure. When Aurora takes off alone, The Boy follows her on an adventure! The Boy is transported into his book and travels worldwide, talking to animals from every biome. From savannahs with elephants to deep below the ocean’s depths with jellyfish, The Boy encounters animals that help him find his friend. Eventually, The Boy sees her after a rocket erupts, carrying him to space!

Sky Elements reminds IAAPA attendees to never stop exploring

IAAPA Expo 2024 brings together creators and innovators in the attractions industry under one roof. Sky Elements is a proud Platinum Sponsor of IAAPA Expo 2024 and flew five drone shows for the annual convention. Two 500-drone light shows flew simultaneously on November 19th at 6 pm and 8 pm, dedicated to the attractions industry. The show featured waterslides, virtual reality, rollercoasters, and more. Attendees could watch both shows across from each other as two separate drone fleets mirrored each other half a mile away.

IAAPA 2023’s 2x record-breaking drone show

Last year, Sky Elements broke two Guinness World Records for “largest logo flown with multi-rotors/drones” and “largest flag created with multi-rotors/drones.” The team pulled through the surprise rainfall and flew 1,599 drones over the Orlando Convention Center, breaking both Guinness World Records at IAAPA Expo 2023. The team prevailed and etched the event into history. This year, Global President of Guinness World Records Alistair Richards presented Sky Elements with its 10th Guinness World Record. Richards presented the award alongside longtime Guinness World Records adjudicator Michael Empric.
