On March 26, 2022, Sky Elements partnered up with the City of Key West to design a 10-minute custom drone light show as part of their week-long celebration of the city’s 200-year anniversary. This drone light show was the first of its kind in the city and was set to music that could be heard both on speakers and also by radio on one of their local channels. As the finale of the Heritage Day event roster, which was a day full of fun activities and events for people of all ages, there was a great audience turn out and we were thrilled to share in a small piece of the city’s festivities. Some of the highlights from the designed show included a giant sailboat on the water, a snorkel with popping bubbles, a school of fish swimming across the sky, and a vibrant sun setting over the ocean with the elusive green flash right at the end. We even saw some dolphins and sea turtles make an appearance in the sky, which are always a kid (and adult) favorite!
Key West has a long and rich history dating back hundreds of years to even before it was permanently settled in 1822 and its culture today is still incredibly unique and vibrant. It is a tight-knit community that is proud of their story and it was a pleasure getting to be a part of the celebrations for this truly historic and exciting occasion. We congratulate the City of Key West for this incredible milestone and wish them many more anniversaries like this one in the future.
