The entire country tuned in as each and every timezone watched the clock hit midnight. CNN hosted their broadcast in just a select few key cities across the country and one of them was Austin Texas! Just one hour after Times Square celebrated midnight - Austin stepped in as a close second with a bigger celebration. In downtown Austin you could see the Sky Elements drone show light up the downtown skyline unlike any other city in the country.
The City of Austin sponsored the event and promoted it as a free event for the community to enjoy. Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages spearheaded the activation and brought the event to new heights with a drone light show. Thousands of families, and attendees came out to enjoy the show and ring in a new year. The local news like KVUE, Fox, and more stepped in to cover some of the behind the scenes on how a drone show works.

In a massive display of school spirit, 1,500 drones flew o form the iconic University of Texas Longhorn logo. While other drone shows have flown over the DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, Sky Elements brought the Longhorn drone show to the heart of the city, honoring both the university and Austin’s vibrant culture. By integrating this massive UT drone show into the Austin NYE show, we proved that the only thing bigger than Texas pride is a Sky Elements drone show celebrating it.
