F1 extravaganza in the night sky

The Formula 1 drone show delighted audiences, creating images that were everything F1. The formations flown included a massive Formula 1 car, a casino’s roulette wheel that spins to become a P Zero tire, and a gigantic helmet with a visor for added protection. The Vegas drone show amazed onlookers leaving the F1 festivities. Max Verstappen of Red Bull took 1st place, and Vegas illuminated with light as a massive fireworks show erupted over every casino on The Strip. It was the perfect prelude to the perfect Formula One drone light show.

Authenticity in the animation

The formations that the Sky Elements in-house animation team crafted for Saturday’s F1 drone show made heads turn. The team detailed each formation carefully to ensure authenticity. The roulette wheel featured black and white squares and even included a ball that spun around it. The checkered finish line flag rippled in the wind as the drones moved in a wave. The final formation represented pure speed and how racers compete at speeds upwards of 215mph.

Close coordination with authorities to ensure a safe and effective flight

This isn’t the first time Sky Elements has flown drone shows over Las Vegas, as Sky Elements has flown numerous shows in the city before. Recently, Sky Elements flew a drone show for the Vegas Golden Knights after a historic Stanley Cup Final over the Florida Panthers back in June. Sky Elements also visited Wynn Las Vegas for their New Year’s Eve celebration, kicking off 2023 with 150 drones! The Strip in Las Vegas is notorious for its tough airspace due to its proximity to Harry Reid International Airport. Still, the Sky Elements team’s relationship and communication with the FAA made the F1 drone show a safe and flawless flight.
