Our Mission
The Dodgers wanted a fresh way to celebrate their milestones, history, and sponsorships during post-game entertainment. Building on their traditional Friday night fireworks, Sky Elements introduced drones shows to Dodger Stadium — where our mission was to design a unique show for each Friday Night Light Show based on the Dodgers' chosen theme and creative brief. Across 16 completely different drone shows, we brought theme nights, historical tributes, and cultural celebrations to life. This case study breaks down what it takes to produce shows at this level and highlights some of our favorite moments.
Spring Training
Creative Process
Pre-production for each Dodgers drone show starts months before the drones take flight. Each show is custom-designed by our in-house animation team to align with the Dodgers' vision for that night's theme. The process begins with creative meetings where we collaborate with the team to understand the key milestones, cultural moments, or sponsor activations being highlighted. From there, we develop detailed storyboards using reference materials provided by the Dodgers, ensuring each formation resonates with the audience. These concepts are then translated into mockups, refining every detail before moving into fully animating each drone's flight path.
Opening Day
Post-Game Entertainment
10 minutes after the game, fans are invited onto the outfield to get a prime viewing angle of the drone show. The content of each night's drone show is new - often to mark team milestones, holidays, theme nights, sponsorships, cultural moments, or just plain crowd pleasers.

Theme Nights & History
Drone shows are a powerful storytelling medium, making them the perfect way to honor your sports team's history and bring the night’s theme to life. The Dodgers celebrated Jackie Robinson Day with a tribute showcasing his legacy through the years. On Memorial Day, they honored our veterans with iconic military imagery.
Culture, Partnerships & Milestones
By scheduling drone shows across multiple nights throughout the season, teams can highlight fan-favorite moments, celebrate achievements in real time, and showcase key partnerships. Sky Elements’ flexibility makes it easy to adapt—whether it’s adding pyro drones to Lakers Night for hat extra wow factor or updating the final show of the season to honor Ohtani’s 50/50 Club milestone.

Dodgers drone shows often light up on holiday weekends and special occasions, honoring fans and VIPs alike. Their patriotic tribute show is a powerful salute to our heroes, celebrating service and sacrifice.
MVPs
Before we go, we want to share one of the standout moments from the 2023 Dodgers season: a tribute to Kobe Bryant. This unforgettable show featured 824 drones, symbolizing his iconic jersey numbers, and brought his legendary career to life. It remains one of the most memorable drone shows in Dodgers history.
