The 12s
The "12s" are the embodiment of the Seattle Seahawks fan base. Their energy and dedication transform Lumen Field into a force to be reckoned with. The 12s are more than just fans; they are a vital part of the Seahawks identity and success.
In honor of the 12s, the Seattle Seahawks partnered with the Sky Elements to fly the first-ever NFL Halftime Drone Show. With 500 drones, we made history as we illuminated lumen field!
Our Mission
In Celebration of the 12's, the Seattle Seahawks curated the first-ever NFL Halftime Drone Show. Partnering with Sky Elements, they brought some of the team’s most iconic moments to life in the night sky. Each image in the show represents a significant piece of the Seahawk's history, from unforgettable plays to symbols deeply tied to the team’s identity. With so much meaning behind every formation in the sky, it’s worth diving into the details of each moment.
Logo History
The Seattle Seahawks' original logo was inspired by the Native American art of the Pacific Northwest. In 2002, the team updated it with a sleeker, more modern design, refining the hawk’s shape and giving it a fiercer, more intense look. Now, the Sky Elements Drone Show is paying tribute to the team's roots by showcasing a stunning transformation—taking the logo from its current modern form back to its classic design.
The Kingdome
The Kingdome was more than just a stadium—it was the heart and soul of Seattle sports for over 20 years. For Seahawks fans, it was home. Recreating it in our drone show wasn’t just a nod to nostalgia—it was a tribute to the countless memories made by those who filled the stands, lived for every play, and helped shape the Seahawks’ legacy. For those who witnessed it firsthand, the Kingdome was more than a stadium—it was a cherished part of their Seahawks journey.
The 12th Man
When the Seahawks retired the #12 jersey in 1984, it was more than a gesture—it was a tribute to every fan who has ever stood, cheered, and fueled the team’s success. Hanging high in the rafters, the 12’s jersey serves as a constant reminder that the fans are just as vital to the team as the players on the field.
In our drone show, we took that tribute to new heights—literally. Watching the 12’s jersey light up the sky, soaring above the stadium higher than ever, was a show-stopping moment. The unity, the passion, and the unbreakable spirit of the 12s were written across the night sky. Whether young or old - all seahawks fans are connected to the 12's
Lumen Field
Opening in 2002, it was designed to capture the intensity of Seahawks fans, amplifying their voices into one of the loudest home-field advantages in the NFL.
Having our drone show light up the Lumen Field logo directly above the stadium itself was a surreal tribute. It was a moment that connected the past, present, and future of this iconic venue—a symbol of where Seahawk's history is made for all of Seattle to witness.
12's Pride
Seahawks fans don’t just watch the game; they become part of it, turning Lumen Field into a sea of blue and green, where every roar, chant, and cheer fuels the team. Face paint has long been a battle-ready tradition, a way for fans to show that they’re all in, no matter the score.
The Beast Quake
On January 8, 2011, Seahawks history was made—not just on the field, but in the ground beneath it. In a wild-card playoff game against the Saints, Marshawn Lynch delivered his legendary 67-yard "Beast Quake" touchdown run that sent the 12s into a frenzy so powerful it registered as a real earthquake on a nearby seismograph. It was literally an earth-shaking moment.
Beast Mode
At the time, Marshawn Lynch’s "Beast Mode" touchdown celebration—grabbing his crotch as he dove into the end zone—was controversial in the eyes of the NFL. It drew fines, sparked debates, and even led to rule changes. But looking back now, it wasn’t just a celebration—it was a defining moment in Seahawks history. It embodied everything Lynch and that Seahawks era stood for: power, attitude, and an unstoppable mindset.
Decibel Defying
The 12s have twice set the Guinness World Record for loudest crowd noise at an outdoor stadium, first hitting 136.6 decibels in 2013, then shattering their own record with 137.6 decibels later that season. That’s louder than a jet engine at takeoff—a level of noise that turns Lumen Field into an opposing team’s worst nightmare.
Legion of Boom
The Legion of Boom wasn’t just a nickname—it was a warning. From 2011 to 2017, the Seahawks' defense, led by Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, and Bobby Wagner, became the most feared unit in the NFL. Known for their bone-crushing hits, lockdown coverage, and unmatched swagger, the LOB didn’t just stop offenses—they humiliated them.
This dominant defense was the driving force behind the Seahawks' Super Bowl XLVIII victory, where they held Peyton Manning’s record-breaking offense to just 8 points in one of the most lopsided Super Bowls in history. They led the NFL in scoring defense for four straight seasons (2012-2015)—a feat only matched by the legendary 1950s Browns.
The Tip
With 30 seconds left in the 2013 NFC Championship, the 49ers were inches from a Super Bowl ticket. Colin Kaepernick launched a fade to Michael Crabtree—but Richard Sherman had other plans.
Sherman soared, stretched, and barely tipped the ball, sending it into Malcolm Smith’s hands for the game-sealing interception. Lumen Field erupted. The Seahawks were Super Bowl-bound, and Sherman’s legendary postgame rant cemented his place in NFL history.
In our drone show, we froze that moment in lights—the exact instant Seattle’s destiny changed.
Thank You 12's
This historic Seahawks drone show wasn’t just a tribute—it was a heartfelt thank you to the 12s. The fans are the heartbeat of the Seahawks, who have made history alongside the team. Every image painted across the night sky—the Kingdome, the 12’s jersey, Beast Mode, the Legion of Boom, The Tip, and the decibel meter—was more than just a visual spectacle. These moments weren’t just about football but about the people who lived them.
As the final images faded into the night, one thing was clear—these moments live on because the 12s keep them alive. This isn’t just about a game or a team; it’s about a bond between the city, the fans, and the Seahawks that will stand the test of time. And on this unforgettable night, that legacy was written across the sky.
Thank You 12s!
Lumen Field erupted with thunderous applause, creating a one-of-a-kind fan experience.
