Workshop Insights: Collaborative Discussions on Drone Show Technology

Rick Boss and Tyler Johnson of Sky Elements taught a workshop before the awards ceremony began. Both seasoned and prospective drone light show providers attended, marking a friendly collaborative discussion about the industry and the evolving technology around it. It was a proper meeting of the minds, as Alexander Levandovskiy of SPH Engineering gathered a group from around the world to talk about the future of this emerging industry. Questions about the setup, calibration, legislation, and software updates were a few of the many questions attendees had during the workshop. The future of the drone show industry is very bright, with like-minded individuals who want to see each other shine.

Post-Award Celebrations: Toasts and a Spectacular 400-Drone Light Show

After the awards ceremony, attendees toasted and went outside for the drone show. The show comprised images celebrating the competition and the spirit around it. The LDI drone show consisted of 400 drones carefully coordinated to create the Drone Show Competition logo, which morphed into a hand grabbing a trophy. The Vegas drone show welcomed everyone to Las Vegas with the iconic Las Vegas sign. Not quite as large as Sky Elements’ F1 drone show, but the animators were still able to get a near-identical mock of what we could do with 600 fewer drones.

The drones then transitioned to a large light show drone with an award medal around its neck. An excited award winner catches the medal and bites it to make sure it’s real! After the iconic meme, it was time to announce the competition’s winners publicly. The drone show concluded with a QR code linking to a video showcasing the winners and their achievements. As the drones landed, the audience could watch the award-winning drone shows immediately. Sky Elements amazed the audience yet again at another beautiful Las Vegas drone show.
